10 Tips For Making A Good Venetian Mirrored Furniture Even Better

Dining-room Redesign!

When you love something in your home, do you tend to deal with it untouched for a long period of time or do you have a propensity to stroll past it every day while it fades into the background? Sort of like being at your Grandma's house where it seems like the very same furniture has been in the same sport for your entire life? It's familiar; it's comfy.

I know that sensation, only my comfortable pal remained in the kind of a mirror that hung on the dining-room wall - for about 9 years that's method too comfy. I've traded out nearly every piece of furnishings under it and around it except for the table itself. Well, it was time to alter things up! It worked for a long period of time till I got tired of not being able to take images without having the reflection of myself or the cooking area. So, out it went. Rather, I hung the framed blackboard that I got by making a trade with another supplier back in September when I did a classic market. I likewise recently found the pegged racks for a steal and included a few of my ironstone plates. I may include cups to the left side also; it's a proportion thing with me.

The room is a mix of new, old, handcrafted, re-purposed and thrift shop and estate sale finds. The chandelier was painted a few years earlier, and I'm attempting to choose if I want to keep it or change it. Thus the reason I haven't rewired it to hang lower. We have high vaulted ceilings, so it's up quite high considering that I swagged it.

The rug is from Pottery Barn this past year, and the table we've had for about ten years or more. The buffet was a light wood colour and was the very first piece of bed room furniture I purchased as a single lady several years ago. I cut the legs down and painted it when I moved it to work as the buffet.

I made or reupholstered/painted a couple of products in this area myself, including the drapes, the upholstered bench and pillow, the wreath and the reupholstered antique chair in the corner which you can read about here.

All the ironstone was either discovered at estate sales or thrift shops. The last thing on our list for this room aside from the light fixture are installing new baseboards because we pulled all of them out to replace our floors a number of months back and have not gotten around to that job yet. Lastly, those lovely spring flowers were a gift from the spouse a couple of days ago. He's a sweetheart and said they were "just because" and he desired me to understand that he loved me, how sweet is that?
